Dustin Brandt is a multi-talented composer, musician, and music director, based in Northern Virginia. He grew up playing piano and guitar, focusing his passion for music into songwriting. He played in punk bands for ten years until 2006 when he took time off to further his music studies at Shenandoah Conservatory.
After earning his Bachelors in 2010, he returned to the stage, performing at Wolf Trap, the Kennedy Center, and internationally in Germany and Italy. He also collaborated, toured, and performed with the Wammie nominated Americana band The Weathevanes, both writing and performing for piano, organ, banjo, and mandolin. He has also contributed piano, organ, vocals, and vocal arrangements on albums by the Wammie award winning country artist Karen Jonas.
Since 2017 Dustin has put much of his performance days behind him, returning to his first passion - composing. He has written works for both screen and stage, and actively takes commissions for choral and orchestral works. Dustin lives in and works in Springfield, VA with his wife Elizabeth and two cats: Sam and Frodo.
